Driven by the fundamental belief that the richness of life increases through Jewish education, CFJE’s mission is to advance Jewish learning throughout metropolitan Chicago. Serving more than 25,000 students from early childhood through adult, we aim to make Jewish education more innovative, engaging, collaborative, experiential and Israel-oriented. PENINA BERDUGO RECEIVES 2008 GRINSPOON-STEINHARDT AWARD

Congratulations to Penina Berdugo of the Chicago Jewish Day School, recipient of a 2008 Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. The award recognizes outstanding classroom Jewish educators across North America.



HOMELAND WINS SIX AWARDS INCLUDING THE NATIONAL JEWISH BOOK AWARD

Since its release just over a year ago,  HOMELAND: The Illustrated History of the State of Israel, published by Nachshon Press, has won six literary awards including the National Jewish Book Award, recognized as the most prestigious award in Jewish literature.

REGISTER NOW FOR HEBREW LANGUAGE CLASSES!

In the year we celebrate Israel at 60, why not treat yourself to something new to spark a deeper connection with our Homeland?

CFJE offers the chance to learn Hebrew in its dynamic Hebrew language Ulpan program entitled “Merkaz Ivrit.” Running from October 2007 through May 2008, this 22 session program (1.5 hr/week) is divided into various proficiency levels. Classes will take place in Skokie, the North Shore, Lakeview and new this year: the Northwest suburbs in Buffalo Grove.
